If you browsed around the directory section more often; you would encounter similiar threads; no it hasn't come to the end. It's just time some webmasters apply changes to their directories; and change their goals.

Mate it's not personal, so do not take it that way, i would rather see energy placed into polls on best directory practice, improvements or other positive threads that look forward as i believe these will do more good than hashing or wasting our time on these type threads.

To me its simple if you think it's over , sell your directory and clear out, if you think it will move forward then lets work in that direction. end of story.

I was going to say yes, the plan was to get all the other directory owners to pack in, and then mine would grow faster!!! (LOL)

Come on Guys let get real, some directory owners broke the rules myself included and now we are paying the price, why does this mean that the directory business is over?

The one thing that I’m happy about is now I will work harder, making more changes to make something different, something with much more value.
The link farms will die, the QBC directories will be no more.

Big directories will change and offer more and will grow as a result.
Let’s end all this talk of “directories are dead” and let’s see it as a new beginning.

    Thanks Brian

I can smell - there are some directory haters who are asking random friends to do all these.

you are bound to get red repped like that.

perhaps a more informative posts, your thoughts, why you even consider it to have ended when there are so many directories being submitted to....that may decrease the red rep and insults....

Feel there is lot of people who invested lot of time in Directories.
    -- Including myself.

-- But I am not making any money now a days..

-- Not sure how long i could keep spending time without any return.

To be honest, I think all of the upheaval is good.

Every market segment needs to be shaken up on a regular basis. This is how "cream rises to the top".

You see this happening now in the mortgage business in the U.S.

All the "get paid fast" directory owners who get a script, a stock template, and throw up a directory should (and will) go away.

But the Directory business will not just disappear. People will build valuable resources and become profitable entities.
