I heard that AdWords actually give discount to agencies. And the SEO company that my friend use dont charge him as AdWords give them discount. Can it be true?

I think they did at one point...but from what I've read the rules changed ( in some places) at the start of this year.

    http://forums.searchenginewatch.com/showthread.php?t=177

There's some info about it there, with the last update being in Oct 2005 saying changes were slated in europe for 2006.

From what I've been able to find (I looked for info once before too) it doesn't look like Google has an official published policy regarding this...although with them that doesn't mean much.

Anyone know of any authoratative sources with clear answers on this?

I spend a lot of AdWords and any % discount is great.

I heard from my friend that his firm only need 2x GAP and $X spending per quarter to enjoy X% discount....and I have to believe him since he has no reason to lie to me. He might try to lie to me to hide his actual earning - but I dont think he want to lie to me that he is earning much more....

And my spending per quarter is more than the $X he mentioned....

Hmm. I'll have to look into this. I get conflicting info depending on where I look and who I talk to.

Well, according to my Rep now, it is only open to EMEA countries :( and also confirm the spending amount per quarter for qualification.

    https://adwords.google.com/support/select/professionals/bin/answer.py?answer=29979.

And I have make a call to my friend to confirm that his firm actually get a discount. He cant reveal the % but told me the % is shrinking... ...

    --
If any firm willing to take my accounts and give me rebate, you have my business. My spending alone is equal or more than the qualification required. Feel very low right now... the discount will make me much richer.

That page you linked to talks about Google Advertising Professionals, not an agency discount. I'm a GAP and can assure you I don't get a discount on my CPC rates. I get credits I can give to new clients but don't get a % off the top.

Interesting. My rep told me the exact opposite. Here's the response I was sent this morning:

Did your rep tell you what the discount was, or, what the criteria is for getting it? Did they let you know about any place online where this info is documented one way or the other?

Yes. It seems that you have to ask specifically for them to give you a positive answer. Kind of like "password". I have tell them # of GAP required + $spending

I cannot tell you the parameter to protect my friend sorry.

I had seen mention/confirmation of an agency discount back in 2004, but haven't found anything recent that confirms it still exists.

If it does, I really wonder what the criteria and the discount are.
