Ya its everywhere that directories business is over i hav 10 directories and if it is over i am deep depts soooo is it really over pls reply or pm me
why is the directory industry over? What makes you think that? It may be in a slight slump at the moment, it certainly isn't over though...
Who you been listening to wallace, some bum who is an expert in nothing ? The directory business is entering a new phase, it went through birth, early childhood, just went through it's rebelious years as a tenneager that knew everything, and caused as much trouble as any teenager could, and is now emerging as a fine young adult that will continue to improve like a good bottle of red wine.
I do not think that directory business is over....yeah I can feel some bad time but thats part of any business.
directory business is not over! don't get carried away by the current situation, just work on your directories, add content etc, and everything will be fine!
I have more this month than ever. I have never spent any money on promotion or advertising, purely time.
Directory business is not over. It will just reform. PR is probably dying so directories are going to work differently. There are still many directories that help with search engines, and getting your pages indexed. You can find these directories through trial I got my F1 site ranking high for some pretty keywords just with a few submissions. And from my experience I started getting many submissions on my directories after all this fuss started. So just do your job nicely and wait.
That was no slump Mike as you know maybe your Sunday words are not as good as your usual daily words There has been some corrections and changes of direction etc, as for the future Looks better than ever
Quality directories focusing on specific niches are certainly not dead. The garbage will go but there is still so much opportunities for the cream. As long as links would play a primarily role in SERPs, directories will exist.
September has been a good month for me, but i know for others submissions are down compared to august, hence the reason for me mentioning a slight slump, nothing major. I expect things to pick up next month, like you mentioned i believe this winter will be very productive as people begin to focus on everyone rather than webmasters. The potential is there, directory owners need to strive and reach it Clever thinking and innovative ideas are the way forward
I have to agree with Pete (oh yes, britishguy). I guess that finally we'll be able to separate quality from QBC directories. Talking for myself, I'm currently running 3 directories, but not very worried, as I've started those from scratch, only one is a dropped domain but I have no intention of market it before it gets properly established. I can only see a better future for directories, as I think that now people will really stop submiting to payed crappy directories and instead look for either free or quality payed ones.
this the only possible way for link building. So i don't think this bussiness can get over like this. Something new has to come to close this down
Directory business over???? WTF????????????????????? Lol- it must be a DUMB idea even to think about it. The business model is old enough to come out of any problem un-scattered. I believe in the business model so much so that - I am opening 5 more niche directories in the next 2 months. One example is this high quality (if workshop's ecoguides.net/directory is high quality) directory of mine I am currently working on. www.onlinegamblingindex.org
