Over the past few weeks I have purchased several forums, most of them
with the clear intention of selling. The first one is the only seriously active &
established forum.

The BIN prices are only negotiable to a point. Whenever I receive an offer
that I feel is good enough, I may close the sale early.

These forums are well worth the asking price based on the forums I've seen
being sold over the forums I'm a member of in the past few months.

I may have one or two more that I don't currently remember (I purchased a
lot of sites lately :lol: so I'll add them shortly).

not point to the forum currently).

Age of site (months): Forum itself exists for around 2 months.
The .net domain exists for over 2 months, while the .com domain (which
currently does not point to the forum, but could easily be done - the former
owner simply moved to a new hosting not too long ago and forgot to do it,
apparently).

Monthly revenue: Unknown (assume no verifiable income).

Revenue details: Google adwords nicely integrated into the header,
showing a targeted banner from time to time, and google adsense text ads
on other times.

Further revenue streams could be utilized, starting from selling links, to
further developing the forum into a graphics designer's Walmart. One thing
I would do as the new owner if I were to develop this site, is work with the
members on affiliate commissions - in such a way that their skins and
designs could be sold to other members for relatively low prices, thus
sharing in the commissions from the profits with these members. More on
that in the site's description.

Monthly page views: 58,000 between November 27th and December
31st.

32,187 pageviews in January so far - based on this rate we are headed to
100,000 pageviews for the month!

Traffic details: This forum is by far THE most active forum I have
owned, both for its somewhat young age (over 400 members in just 2
months and a half, more or less), and its member activity.

Some very important forum stats suggest that this forum's peak has not
been ages ago, like many of the forums I see being sold:

member activity, hence the (relatively) low count of unique visitors, and the
high amount of pageviews.

More updated, uncropped traffic screenshots are available if needed. The
average amount of visits per day in January was 137. Average Pageviews
per day was even more impressive - at 3368.67 per day on average!

Description:

This is the best forum I have ever owned as far as potential goes, for
several reasons:

1) 54 members out of 402 have 20 posts or more on the board.
105 members total (including the 54 above) have 5 posts or more.
178 members total (including the 105 above) have 1 post or more.

2) The forum has more than a few dedicated moderators and administrators
(to find them easily, click the "member link" and sort it by a descending
number of posts) who all post on the board pretty much on a daily basis,
and from my summarized research like the forum a lot and plan on staying (I
haven't spoken to any of them specifically, but judging by the fact that any
of them I checked has kept posting several messages per day for the past
few days, including today)

3) The forum comes with some SERIOUSLY valuable member content, which
could be featured more prominently than currently. You would need to
register to view some of the more valuable content (I encourage you to do
so before purchasing this site - you'll love it!), but here are a couple of the
examples you should be able to view as a guest:

The more valuable material is in forums that are only viewable to registered
members, or members with 5 posts or more. Some of this content is of
course not yours to "own" - but rather you can feature it more prominently
in certain areas of the site, to further attract new visitors, and demonstrate
the benefits of becoming a forum member. Very recommended!

Most forums don't really work hard enough to show prospective members
the benefits of registering and becoming a member. Even registering for
something free of charge takes effort, and you would rather not to that if
you don't have to, hence the need for benefits. Many new forum owners
miss this part.

This forum just begins to do that, but that's not quite enough. I would
advise on a much more aggressive benefit-oriented marketing for this one.

4) The overall forum growth is quite staggering as well, especially the pages
viewed by an average user, etc.

Description: A forum for "The Apprentice" fans. Great domain name,
good looking header and menu, nicely laid out site with relevant RSS feeds,
a forum already setup for you.

Includes a small image gallery which you can add to. The forum has 8
registered members, who are (obviously) inactive. This forum needs a kick in
the right direction to get going!

former owner. Unverified at this point, but his stats make sense.

Traffic details: editing

Description: A cute forum for discussing upcoming, existing, and past
Pixar films. If I had time to develop this forum, I'd look into that - simply
because I love their films

The main site is actually a PR4, which isn't bad at all! It has several PR2 sub-
URLs.

32 members, all are probably inactive at this point, but still a good start at
least as far as "statistics" for the forum go. I based the price on the current
setup of the forum, the ability to sell PR4 links right away etc.

Monthly page views: Unknown, the former owner specified he just
took over the domain recently, and it receives some traffic. Assume little to
none (I haven't verified).

Traffic details: Not verified

Description: Steals and Deals - the name says it all I guess You
could develop this site into all kinds of directions, but overall what you get
to start with is a domain that will be 4 years old in 15 days (That's the main
value here), has some search engine listings, a cute logo to work with, and
that's about it.
