Hi, I would just like to know if anybody has a favourite site tracking/hit counter tool (similar to statcounter.com) for blogging? I would LOVE one with an RSS feed that shows you page hits so far today, for example. Thanks, James
I use both awstats (log file) and Urchin (javascript) for most of my websites including my blog. I don't believe either of these have an rss option however
I'm primarily using SiteMeter. Does anyone know of a free tool that will show me my most popular pages?
statcounter does the "popular pages" thing. it's quite good. only bad thing (if you want a free counter) is that it only logs the last 100 users... You have to subscribe for more. Lucky I'm not there quite yet. Though, thanks to this forum I'm getting there...
hmm, rss feed to show latest stats? do you mean to receive in your rss reader? or to be able to call/display onsite or other sites? i run a stats service and am having the engine revamped, hadn't thought about adding rss, cheers
I mainly mean to have my site stats displayed in my RSS reader (FireFox Sage, for example)... it is SUCH a pain having to refresh my statistics webpage all the time. I'm new at the "webmaster" thing, and I like to see how popular my blog/site is. I'm sure this would appeal to a LOT of OCD people.
yeah that's something that had never occurred to me, making stats available for rss readers, to be honest seeing as i don't havy any article sites i've never educated myself about rss, guess i've got a reason now
BUT, I only get 100 log entries for free. Remember, I'm cheap. (I don't live and earn an American/Australian/British salary... YET!!!)
I've got Google Analytics and statcounter.com set up for my website, personally I find Google Analytics hard to get my head around, my favourite is statcounter.com.
AND, unfortunately Google is not accepting new users for Google Analytics. Unless I'm missing something.
I use http://www.tracewatch.com/ free service php code /mysql database and can view unlimited sites in one login from a dropdown box to change between them. the tracking code is javascript or php javascript not as good as the php as it will not show spiders and users with javascript turned off. Lots of features! Can host the install on one server and monitor a different site on a different server. also forgot it has Path Analysis too!
I use statcounter & g-analytics for most of my websites... I just installed this one and looks great for now Maybe I'll start using tracewatch instead of statcounter
