Scammer Alert - shaun12345

I have been approached by someone on MSN acting under the company Bayliss Freelance. The person's address was jako123456789@hotmail.co.uk.

I responded to this post on v7n. As you can see it is by a member called shaun12345. This guy is also a member at DP, which I've only just discovered by referring back to v7n and then checking DP. This guy pretends to be a female on MSN.

This individual was offering their services as an agent. Putting me into contact with potential clients and taking a "cut" for acting as the man in the middle. To be honest my first impressions of this person weren't good at all, very unprofessional. No website, no testimonies, no background info at all.

They then asked me to produce a logo for a website called PopSofa*. They would then pay me $30 if the logo was picked by the client.

As it happens I was browsing DigitalPoint earlier and noticed that someone had already started a contest here about it. Only difference was that this was for $58 and not $30.

Therefore it is quite evident that shaun12345 was intending to pocket the other $28. When confronted about this I was told to "f**k off" and shaun quickly went offline.

I'd advise everyone here at DigitalPoint to avoid shaun12345 like the plague.

I will of course PM the URL of this thread to shaun so that he may try and defend himself but I'd be very surprised if he replies.

Edit: *Can I just make it completely clear that this is absolutely nothing to do with sunnymonkey, his contest or his very cool little site PopSofa. Unfortunately he is another innocent party here.

Like I said in the original post, the guy was originally offering his services as a man in the middle negotiating deals with clients. He would take a cut of 10%. I responded to an advert that he posted at v7n.

shaun requested that I should create a logo to show him my skills. I was asked to create a logo for a site and if the client was to like it, I would then recieve $30 for my trouble. As it happens I had already seen the contest for that particular site on DP but they were offering $58 for the logo. Clearly shaun was hoping to pocket the remaining $28, that's if he paid me the $30 in the first place.

Having confronted shaun about this he denied it and when I sent him a PM on DigitalPoint after discovering he was a member here too, he tried to deny the whole thing.

..and now we find ourselves here in this thread. With shaun unsurprisingly lying in an attempt to save face but in reality just digging a bigger hole for himself.
