Hi everyone Can anyone shed some light on how to be #1 on MSN? I enjoy both the #1 and the #2 spot on Google and #1 on Yahoo for all 3 of my primary search terms (very large, well established site been going 5 years) but I just can't crack MSN. I come up at between #8 - #13 and I really want that top spot there too. Does anyone know what is so different in MSN that I'm not cracking there too?
I don't know that noe one cares about MSN, I think it's "Google First" rule - Optimize for Google and the other SE's will fall into place. I've always found this to be true. Plus, MSN will changing how they return results this year anyway...no point in optimizing for something that you know will change soon.
Yes, I think that is essentially the case. Who gives a damn? The one major problem with MSN is even if you rank at the top of the natural search results you are still way down the page, because of all the paid result they list first. So why bother with them?
as everyone has said, it is purposeless to optimize for MSN, however, if you are concerned about it, I too have found that optimizing for yahoo and google also optimizes for MSN.
That is why I asked, because I have not found that to be true on my site. I'm #1 in Google & Yahoo but #8 in MSN. But I'll wait to see what the 'NEW' MSN wants.
#8 is not a bad ranking - how does the traffic from the #8 MSN spot compare to the traffic from the Yahoo & Google top spots?
