Adsense policies regarding illicit drugs content

I dropped an email to the Google Adsense support team regarding displaying adsense ads on a site which contained content about illicit drugs addiction and abuse. If you take a look at the adsense policies, it's very vague regarding this topic. Specifically, it says it doesn't permit:

1. Illicit drugs and drug paraphernalia
2. Sales or promotion of prescription drugs

Part of the email response I got from them was the following:

So basically, if you are NOT promoting the use of illicit drugs, it should be fine displaying ads on your site which may contain illicit drugs keywords within some of the pages.

I have a subforum that is devoted to drug discussion (marijuana talk & related topics, etc). Is this acceptable with adsense TOS?

 

If it's a subtopic of your site, it maybe permitted but I wouldn't risk it and ask Google
