Dreamhoat Cheated me - they Bring me in Condition to Sucide

hello recentely i purchased dreamhost account and have transfered all my sites there
and yesterday i got 1 mail from them that i have spammed by sending emails...i told them many times that those are my site members and its not spam mails member have choosen to recive email from admin while registering
but then also they just dleted my whole data my hard work everything gone
and i think the main matter is that i have 2 site hosted with em

www.imagechilly.com and www.desilime.com and both eats above 30 gb bandwith daily and thats the main reason they band my account
they are really rude in their support too
i lost all my data and now i cant even log in to ftp
recentely i spent alot in my sites now im in big tension pls suggest something
what further step can be taken from here

 

Sorry to hear about that - but you cause quite big traffic for shared enviroment(thats 900gb/month)
Look for unmetered dedicated or vps.

They are required by law to provide you with atleast a backup of your sites.
Unless ofcourse it was anything illegal?

They should have a backup on their own servers, unless they deleted that also.

Maybe cool down a little first and then send an email to dreamhost again. I'm sure they didnt delete your data, just suspended your account.

...And dont forget to backup your data in the future.

Such a shame they have ripped you off. i guess the moral of the story here is to always keep a backup. i make a weekly backup of all my sites on both my servers, and have weekly backups in storage going back 3 years. litereally hundreds of discs full of bacups.

could it because you sent too many emails out in a short time? I know many hostings have this limit. for example, hostgator allows max. 200 emails per hour. also, did you have any unsubscribe information in your emails sent to users?

Probably that is the reason why you should rely on smaller hosts which can give you personal attention and can be held and contacted when needed.

 

What you need is a dedicated box...and $50 can get you one easily these days.

Yep, there's your problem right there.

Above poster is correct, dedicated box are pretty cheap now days.

 

You will have to send an email to support in a polite manner explaining the situation, that you need a copy of the backup so that you can move the site on a new server. I think that is the only thing that can be done at this point of time.

 

if they won't reply to your emails and you are sure you didn't do anything illegal and they deleted your data and stuff unconditionally then go and talk to a lawyer, i make daily backups at my host...you can never know what will happen

 

One More Horror Story about Dream Host , Even I have an account with Them , But in my opinion DH is not a Reliable Hosting provider

you are right don....they give nothing all the plans which they show on home page are fraud...they never provide anything...can any1 tell me some serious way to take some serious action against them so that they cant get more stupid like me and we can save other guys

Well generally in case of spamming they should suspended or delete your mail services and not the web contents. You did not have any illegal content right? so they can not just delete it. Instead of emailing them now... just get a number from them and ask them why did they remove the complete domain on base of spam complaint, they could have removed or suspended the mail services.
