A machine call you and tells you a set of digit you have to enter in adsense I guess but It never asked me that. .
I hope they don't try that with me. I'm very quick to hang up when I know an automated dialer has called me. There is a perceptible delay when you first pickup before the recording starts and I slam the phone when I hear that.
Seems like I recall this when I (a U.S. resident) signed up a year ago. But Google never telephoned and I was accepted.
I also never had to do this. But I've signed up over a year ago. Looks like they have lots of people with fake info signing up if they're doing this.
If your account was approved before Google began issuing PINs on January 28th, 2005, then you don't need to enter the PIN or activate over phone. AFAICT
That explains why I never got one! I was approved a couple of months before that, and even though I had made only a couple of bucks at that point, I was watching the mail a few months later to see if a nice postcard would show up -- instead, I got a check! Lucky me.
I think about a year ago, Google may have called just to make sure was valid? I believe it was, but I could of been mistaken with another program.
