i would like to make a site optimizing it for a particular keyword .. But as all the important domain such .com . .net , .org etc are already taken , i wanted to know if it is better ( in order to rank high for this KW ) , if i buy a country domain OR if i get a .com , .net domain which starts with that keyword , such as mykeyword-best.com mykeyword is an example Thx in advance
The Question is exactly: mykeyword-best.com or (example) mykeyword.co.uk ?? I think, that the best is: firstkeyword-secondkeyword.com
hello thx , suppose i am targetting the keyword phrase amazon city , which one is better , amazoncity.com or amazon-city.com?
i like going with the tld option. i recently went with http://textmessage.cc instead of like textmessage-sender.com it looks better and its easier to remember so if people want to return to your site they can remember the addy. imo =\
Country domain will rank better in regional country. I have a good number of domains and for example, I have an important help in google.es rankings if my domain is .es or is hosted on Spain. If you are not american, use regional domains.
I'm not sure what question you're asking now, FireStorm. If it's a question about ranking well in a regional Google, then either (1) get a regional domain or (2) get the site hosted in the geographical region. If you're asking which is the best domain to purchase, buy both amazon-city.com and amazon-city.co.uk and use the .com version as your primary domain.
hmm thx , in fact i mixed two questions .. . the second one was if i am targetting the keyword amazon city , which domain is better , amazon-city.com or amazoncity.com
Does the - matter? Why? I see Google understand that a keyword1keyword2.com inside a domain stands for keyword1 and for keyword2 too, as also does for keyword1-keyword2.com. Just need to search and find some examples. But I agree that doesn't matter too much to have keywords inside domain.
Instead of going for country domains, y not try .ws extensions....ws = website. So u can have www.keyword1keyword2.ws afaik, .ws extensions are costliest of the lot, at NameCheap, they come for $28.88
