Chitika plausible fraudulent activity

Discussion in 'Chitika' started by Reticon, Dec 29, 2005.

The only "plausible fraudulent activity" happening around my sites these days was Chitika, until I got an email from Chitika telling me about "plausible fraudulent activity". What a crock! I had a whopping 4 referrals too! I've since convinced them to drop Chitika before they get the same email.

So here's a place to share your warnings. Humbug!!!

BidVertiser - cries fraud and again is wrong. My server logs have IP addresses from all over the world. I have a handful of visitors that make 20+ hits in the same day, and I DON'T CLICK MY OWN ADS! Where are these people getting this from?

I'll tell you what it is. It's a convenient way to drop publishers that they don't want to pay.

I think I've caught on to a pattern. My sites get a LOT of international traffic. It seems a lot of programs are assuming a lot of international traffic = fraud. YPN recently recommended that I try to only display their ads to U.S. users and I shouldn't have to worry about it.

My network, I am now up to 8 writers, generates about a half million hits a day. As much as 30% of that is international. BidVertiser dropped me like a hot potato, and their payout was rotten anyway. Chitika had dwindled to ridiculous CPMs which I had assumed meant they were filtering the traffic, so when they turn around and "suspend" my account and mention "fraud" I think they are making that term a bit more general than how most people use it.

Chitika had about $800 pre audit. The email seems to say they still plan to pay me, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Yes, I did get my adsense payment. Why do you ask?

It's funny how you keep spreading "Chitika is Fraud" all over the internet, but you keep their affliate link on your site...

Go and re-read the T&C before you start spreading that about.

...hmmm, we seem to be talking about two completely different plains of existence here.

fryman, you need to stop dinging my posts if you are going to talk about chump change. If you set your ego aside for a second you may learn something that would multiply your earnings by 100. You have made some very incorrect assumptions. I wonder if you guys have "dinged" most of the "high-rollers" out of the forum leaving only a bunch of "wish-they-weres" to do the talking.

I enjoy sharing SOME info with other folks, most people in my "boat" (lol) spend all of their time on "vacation". I'll tell you what, you guys ding me again and I'll leave you to wallow in your own patheticness.

Since you'll obviously take me up on this offer, let me leave one last piece of advice. If you want to learn how to make money at this ask someone who makes as much as you want to make. Not someone who spends all their time lurking and dinging and talking about chump change.

I'll determine the verdict by the ratings of this post. Yes fryman, that means you have to go ding a bunch of other folks so you can ding me again. I'll make it easy for you though, why don't you just reply with your criticism and I'll count it as a vote against me.
