    This is from http://code.google.com/apis/adsense/

So, if your forum or whatever doesn't get at least 100,000 hits you can't do revenue sharing and such? Am I understanding this right?

As i predicted this earlier. Adsense is planning to only allow revenue sharing through API.

    Why?

    1) Because through API, Google knows what percentage of impressions you are giving to your members. e.g 75%-25%.

    2) To pull the plug on webmasters, who change their percentage share overnight to benefit themselves. You will have to report to google why you want to change the share percent. This is gonna be difficult for webmasters.

Its time for revenue sharing forums to set rules and declare proper guidelines on revenue sharing or they could be in trouble later on.

For all revenue sharing webmasters, Wake up NOW and apply for this.

I don't understand how it affect AdSense Revenue Sharing when the script changes the actual AdSense code to the thread starters AdSense code. I thought the % meant how many times out of 100 their AdSense code will appear.

Damn, I hope it doesn't affect Revenue Sharing .

What about ad revenue sharing websites that are getting less than 100.000 pv /day? Will their website shut down?

No, (as I understood it) it reads that they will switch back to normal Adsense. You may be able to get around that if you apply before September 13th. But elsewhere I thought it meant you still needed to have 100,000 plus visitors per month.

    That's nuts.

This is confusing. On the one hand I think it says if you submit your implementation for review before September 13 you will be allowed to use the program regardless if you meet the 100K requirement. If you start on or after September 13 then you must meet the traffic requirements by December 15.

However I could also read it that you can get in the door and start before September 13 but you will still have to meet the traffic requirments by December 15.

not sure on this one... if you have to be up to 100K page views a day by December 15 regardless then i am sunk

well my emails from signing up says I must have 100K page views a day to use the live version of Adsense API... so they either want me to think i must have 100K page views to use Adsense API, even though I signed up before September 13, or it makes no difference and you must have 100K views a day.. why do they always talk out of both sides of their .....?

I'm gathering that if you are using the Adsense API already (or atleast before Sept 13th) then you would have until December 15th to get to 100,000 visits per day.

100,000 visitors per day is probably way more than most of us get, so Revenue Sharing for most of us will no longer be an option.

ok i am a bit confused here

i wrote the final working version of the joomla ad revenue sharing mod

Is Google requiring you to use the API? Aren't API's usually optional?

Sort of like , here we made this easier for you. You can do it the hard way if you like.

What are the consequences for using revenue sharing if not using the API?

I am sure it is just a way to do it easier.

I don't think you'll be able to do revenue sharing if you don't average 100,000 visitors per day. They give an extension until December 15th, it appears, for those already using it.

Beyond that I'm not sure. It sucks for most of us though. 100,000 hits per day is huge!!

Can I still sign up today to avoid the 100K visitors per day?

Also, what if I have Adsense revenue sharing on pages that are generated by the users. I let them get 100% share instead of sharing 50/50 or whatever? Will this new rule effect me?

    Thanks,
    CM
