I recognize many faces in that thread, Mike, minstrel, shoe etc. but didn't find a word about it on DP.

This will be fun.

I have a few questions though Mike, can't it just be an already existing website and they just change the keywords? It would be pretty cheap if it was like that!

Per what I understood there are no rules at all.

So you can try to rank high with any site you whish.

I think that would be ok. I'm assuming many entries will be with urls from domains that have been indexed for quite a while, so as far as I'm concerned, anything goes

This sounds great, how does everyone feel about the likely winners?

I expect that with the sandbox the winner could well be a current site with a page devoted to the contest.

Also how about sites with 100,000 coop weight to spare, they sure could bump an established site up or knock down a new site........

He does give one rule, you have to link back to them on the page you're geting #1.

I don't think existing sites should be allowed. All Shawn would have to do is add the kewords to his home page (and maybe throw a bit of coop weight at it with the keywords as anchor text) and he'd win. I don't really see how people can be interested in participating unless they have powerful sites that they are sure they can win with. Am I missing something?

too bad i dont have the skill to play in this game, it sounds like alot of fun. plus the winner will have huge bragging rights and tons of respect.

I doubt anyone with a site making thousands a day would risk screwing up their domain for a contest.

A site doesn't need to make any money to be powerful, in fact, it could be a site that loses money.
