My sister will sign-up here

    Hi guys,

    I've been reading around for a clue on how to go about this. My sister wants to sign-up here in D-P but I've told her our accounts might get mistaken as duplicates and we might both end up getting banned.

    Luckily, I read a post by Katy in another thread saying that using the same IP is acceptable as long as the moderators are informed. I understand we can't bump each other's threads and give each other iTraders (I did my research ;) ).

    I'll be PMing her username to one of the mods as soon as she signs up.

    Yes you are correct. Notify the admins and do not engage in any type of business with each other. You will be fine.

    It all sounds good!

    In countries like Singapore there are any number of people who have never met, and will never meet, all on the same IP. It's just one of the tools we use to detect duplicate accounts. Katy's advice with regard to bumping and itraders is spot on.

    Awwwww...That sounds strange....same IP..several Users ....What tool were you talking about to detect sarahk?? Is it only meant for Mods or can i also see it??

    Thanks guys. :) Actually, I don't know why I posted this. I just saw this thread: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=459078 and immediately thought that I had to do the same. Seems like a direct PM to the mods would do the trick. ;) So this thread could be locked now, unless you deem it educational for those whose family members wish to sign-up in D-P. :)

    I think she means , Checking IPs of member is NOT the only way they use to search for duplicate accounts.
