As long as i have these on top of my list, i thought to let you people know of them. They are some general and niche directories.

Please understand, that these are really old, established and quality websites. No space for spammers, or just for people that want their IBL's.

Most of them are .edu or .org domains, so if you have a nice quality website, with a unique and usefull content ... Suggest that. And only that.

    1. The WWW Virtual Library - PR9

    2. Internet Public Library - PR8

    3. Librarian's Internet Index - PR8

    4. BUBL Information Service - PR8

    5. InfoMINE - PR8

    6. Resource Discovery Network - PR8

    7. DutchESS - PR7

    8. Groton Public Schools - PR6

    9. Barbara's News Reasearcher's Page - PR 5 . Important Info : You will find the mention : PAGES ARE NO LONGER BEING UPDATED, labeled on January 1, 2005.. Happily, someone did accept some of my submissions, and all of them were after that date. So everyone might still have a chance.

    10. Firstfind - PR4

    Cheers :)

Not everything the web contains is about PR or IBL's.

I actually sent some bug reports to the owners, browsed trough them, visited some resources etc.

If you have a website that you think it fits in their index, just submit it. You have nothing to lose.

Some of them even give you a Direct link, others a redirect link (which it seems that Google reads, as of recently), others have PR on pages, other don't etc.

I am sure you won't miss your 30 minutes, to submit to these websites :)

    Right ?

    Nice list.

You would almost say that Google hands out PR based on URL size. The shorter the URL the higher the PR.

I guess short URLs were much more avaialble in the old days.

I dont think there is much to it. I think its more the age of the sites.
