I just did a short interview with Seth Godin about his new site, Squidoo on my blog. I'm interested in hearing if anyone here has been able to get actual traffic from Squidoo yet. I'm guessing that perhaps if there is some kind of press coverage of this within the next week or month it could turn into something. Right now the front page says $870.10 earned, so it must be getting some relevent traffic.
I created a lense a couple of days ago 'Nutritional Therapy' I have a had a trickle of traffic from it but I think it is probably guys from DP just checkinh it out.
Cutter, I'm one of the 3-4 "Chris's" that read your blog - based on the ""who reads this" post. I've worked hard to break into the top 100 list at Squidoo. It has driven a little traffic to my debt site though I think much more to my site blog that I pull as an rss feed into Squidoo. Nice interview with Seth. I've emailed him a few times and he's always been good with a quick reply. Same with Brendon. If you care to read my squidoo blog comments, you can check out my web site marketing blog
I have creted my first squidoo lens. I think its a great way to get the traffic on your site. I havent got any traffic from th lens yet, but i hope it will help.
I created 2, which option did you guys choose? Make money? Easy Option? http://www.squidoo.com/slyuser/ http://www.squidoo.com/boredshack/
I have gotten a bit of traffic from a squidoo here or their, but I dont think squidoo is quite to the other blog sites level yet. Eventually it will be though.
How do you drive Squidoo traffic? Just build a lens and wait for the traffic to roll in? Or is there a way to actively 'chase' traffic in their network?
Squidoo is great and Seth is a God. Using squidoo in my opinion is more science than anything. Meaning there is a method to it. I've been playing with it for months. I've made more lenses and wasted more time then I care to admit. I recently picked up a few ebooks from a couple of marketers who are using is to drive lots of traffic. One of them I knew personally and asked to see stats and I was pretty amazed. I play the Adsense game, and build lenses to drive traffic to my Adsense sites. Reason? Because if you build a really tightly focused squidoo lens on a search term that has really low competition, you can get your lens ranked #1 for that search term in just a few days. Google is eating up squidoo right now. So if you want to use your lens to drive traffic to a "money site". Build one around a tightly focused keyword/keyword phrase that has little competition and then you'll see the real traffic. Hope that helps... Liz
There is a 'method' if you like for getting traffic to your lens. People are always wanting to get more and more traffic because they think it = sales. I call that the mud sling method. If you throw enough mud at a wall some of it will stick. Targeting quality 'buying' traffic is how you can really make some money using Squidoo. You can get loads of long tailed keyword phrases and build a lens around those phrases making sure that the content contains them at least four or five times. The lens url should also contain the phrase you are going for along with the title. Then you wait for Google to pick you up under the phrase that you were aiming for and you will then have quality visitors to your site. I know this is a little broad and vague but it's 7.30am in the morning here and I was at a BBQ last night! The main structure is there though and I'm sure that you can fill in the gaps. Once you have the main parts in it's getting to work time Hope that helps Kelly
I agree, I've been using squidoo to bring traffic to my blogs for a while now and the best way is to target those long tail keywords that are related with your site or blog and create lenses on them so creating just 1 or 2 lenses wont work in terms of getting traffic to your site. I usually build about 100 lenses just to get traffic to one site/blog
Thanks for the traffic tips re squidoo. I'll instruct my pool of writers to write custom squidoo pages based on longtail keywords and related keyword clusters.
