Google backlinks just updated

I'm actually scared about pressing the submit button here but has there been a backlink update. I know the datacenters have been a bit weird the last few days but nearly all my sites have had their backlinks altered.

Someone will probably tell me I'm wrong.

I take it you're not seeing anything different then?

I checked the domain over several datacenters and it appears the one that showed the results on the tracker is the only 1 with differing results from the other datacenters so you're probably right.

Still we should be due a backlink update soon are we not?

Article Codex still isn't showing any backlinks so if there is an update it looks like it hasn't come yet. (New site so no "roll back" problems)

I use marketleaps checker for this. I havent seen any movement, probably wont until January.

I keep seeing a Backlink update post every couple of days..It apparently is someone just picking up on what's going on.. Totally understandable.. But if you look back you will see quite a few post with the same thing.. The serps are fluctuating between the test DC and others. Pre Jagger BL's keep popping up every so often triggering people thinking there is a BL update (again understandable) Just posting what I have noticed over the past 3 or so weeks.. I see the same thing on other forums.. The Links that show atleast for me are the same number as pre Jagger.. Hope this helps answer your question Weirfire.

As far as Google doesn't show all links, nor an important part, I don't see why should care about. Use Yahoo! Site Explorer for example, and stop checking backlinks at Google...

We need a backlink update and we need it badly ( and not just because my boss is asking me about it every day, either.)

Right now, taking my site as an example, google is taking wild guesses as to what's important about my back links. It's not even close to recognizing the good relationships I've cultivated within my company's industry, and it's recognizing links that on first glance have no relationship to what we're doing at all.

Don't be afraid of a backlink update... unless of course, it fails to recognize the links that are important to you. If Santa brings us a backlink update that is more "natural" and is better at recognizing backlinks that are created like natural person-to-person networking, I'd be happy.

Google has really devalued reciprocal links, my sites that have reciprocal links from pr5 sites also now showing in the backlinks.

From now on I will only go for three way links for google optimzation.
