I have most of my sites powered by AdSence, but when I saw Auction Ads I liked it's concept because I could deliver on topic ads that would could actually like and use rather then some silly landing page often wanting money for a service that was likely not worth it (sorry adwords users ) and I really liked the idea of integrating the Ebay ads to my occult classified section as I could put up something similar to the nature of a classifieds section. With all the troubles that AA has been having I've been seeing people say they are changing their ads, and while I know that many are going with the PPC networks, those just don't suit my needs, so I was wondering if there was anything out there similar to AA that could deliver goods rather then services... I really have no clue what's out there as I've not tried anything other then Auctionads & AdSence, and while I could likely rummage around the forums and find out, I was hoping that a few of you guys could offer up some suggestions.
Ebay offers their affiliate program through commission junction. It is more work than Auction Ads but at least it works. I currently run both. Up until last week I was replacing my AuctionAds with the Commision Junction/Ebay ads. On my new posts I am going back to Auction Ads because my click throughs have been greater along with my earnings per sale. But, if Auction Ads starts serving up the wrong ads again I won't hesitate to start pushing Commission Junction/Ebay again.
On Auction Ads you have a single page where you build the ad. On CJ/Ebay you have to sign up with CJ then you are diverted to Ebay to build ads. There are more steps involved everytime you build an ad. I sell Baseball Cards I can build an ad on Auction Ads in maybe just over a minute. With CJ/Ebay it takes me about ten minutes and I struggle with getting just what I want my ads to display. The good thing about Ebay/CJ is you can build ads by category if you like.
The ads are not bound to a single sale are they? As in, I'm not going to need to set up an ad once a week when the bidding is over or anything right? (cuz that would suck). I wont mind spending the extra time setting up ads if I can build them and let them sit for months on end....especially if the ads are topically accurate to my needs (like the keyword system on AA).
No. The ads populate based on the setup you have done. In my case if I write a post about 2007 Donruss Elite Football every time the page is viewed it serves up current auctions based on those keywords.
PM me your affiliate link if you have one... I'll try them out (next week). _________________________________ Any other alternatives?
I'm definitely going to look at switching to CJ for my ebay ad display. It's one thing to have a bad run of 3 days, or two or three outages in a month, but the AuctionAds issues have been ongoing for several weeks now, and there aren't any tangible signs that things are changing for the better.
I'm just about to launch my new eBay ads service (for CJ affiliates) that lets you set up ads in seconds. Not sure if I'm allowed to post the link here though with my low post count Ian
One benefit of AA is how they handle international traffic, i.e., sending the ad click to the local country eBay site. That seems to be difficult or impossible with CJ/eBay.
i just switched from AA to CJ/eBay earlier today, so i'll see how it goes.. Can anyone tell me how long before I should start seeing the clicks show up in my CJ reports? minutes, hours, days?
I've been testing AuctionAds for three months so far.. so far not as good as I would have hoped. I would need about 20,000 uniques to be making around $200 a month for site1.. both are in prominent positions in the left sidebar above the fold. Both are niche sites. Site1 has much higher quality traffic. Site1: $20 a month with just under 2000 uniques a day. Site2: $26 a month with about 700-800 uniques a day.
I'm not sure about AA, but there are some networks out there that does similar things like it I think but with Clickbank products instead.
