I've just noticed themed ad units. I think this might do well. I think there are many pros and cons. As far as drawing attention goes it'll definately draw more attention. I enabled it, allthough it doesn't show right away. Anyone else care to comment? Regards MtraX
Hi I just read the FAQ (Fryman, sorry, didn't see that thread!) and it states that the themed ads gets served geographically based on your IP address. So only peeps on the US will see Thanks Giving ads and probably Halloween ads too (and 4th of July ones). I'm not sure whether anyone outside the US can actually see themed ads at all (probably just on the day). Anyone care to comment? I'm not going to post this question in the other thread too... MtraX
No one has seen the xmas themed ads yet... I have a xmas site and still haven't noticed any difference. The info Adsense gave about this is pathetic. For example, what kind of banners will be themed? Some people say that all of them, others say that just the skyscrappers. I guess we will just have to wait
From what I read, the themes are based on "geo-location"..... So I guess until "geo-location" can eventually zone in on religious/idealistic beliefs, then I guess it is still "pot-luck"....... -PYJAMA
I agree, but this will probably just be a US rollout, so much more difficult to determine which holidays to promote where? MtraX
ooooooooo, these may not be politically correct. There will be those who object to to themes only about the "C" holiday.
I'm seeing some on my site now - just spotted one on the right-hand side here: http://www.photographycorner.com/articles/film/a-look-back Not seeing them everywhere on my site yet, though... just some places. Just skyscrapers so far... no leaderboards.
Update, seeing boxes in the Christmas theme as well here: http://www.photographycorner.com/pr.../tz600-professional-camera-bag-by-kiesel-bags
I just noticed the leaderboards on my site have a similar look: I emailed Adsense support to see what's up.
