Taken from Click Input Don’t run on the content network Don’t create a site targeted campaign Don’t use broad match for all your keywords Don’t only create one ad Don’t put all your keywords in one group Don’t forget to check your stats regularly Don’t forget to check the destination URL works Don’t simply use Adwords suggested keywords Don’t forget to use a coupon to open your account Don’t forget to use subids or some form of tracking Plus two more just for fun... Don’t forget to set an affordable budget Don’t expect to turn a profit first day
Nice..wish I knew those when I started using Adwords. I wasted money, but learned valuable lessons. I think you learn lessons quicker when they involve money.
Umm i've broken quite a few of those rules and I'm having great success too. I would say these are subjective to the niche your in. Too true. Those two can be a gold mine if you know how to pump them
Good tips... 1 & 2 I disagree with BUT I wholeheartedly agree with for people new to Adwords advertising. Site targetting and content network campaigns can go a bit pear shaped if you dont know how to work them so I would say avoid those until you master the all elusive search network.. Cheers Stewart
Amen, I second and third that notion, I've good and bad things about it, If I ever use the content network it will be very slow and cautious sort of like sticking my just the tip of my toe very slowly in order to make sure I don't get burned.
Useful tips there, I wonder if google uses your adwords optimisation to sometimes make you higher in your serps? That would be an interesting prospective for regular advertisers..
I have even found that good SERPs don't make my QS any better I *think* you can open another account with the same card
