Page 1 on Google in 1 Week

Well my keyword is "basic calculator" for http://basic-calculator.com

Here's an idea of how popular my keyprhase...it's not great but it is still definitely a searched keyphrase

If you do a WHOIS, I registered on the 6th... basically I did a lot of SEO on it, got a lot of related and unrelated sites that linked back (note I said linked back, not linked), a lot of hard work

I'll keep you guys posted on my traffic from search engines in the next few days, because it just hit page 1 today

took me 1 week and a few days, and a LOT of hard work marketing it

A new site has more chances to get into the top 10 if SEO is done properly. As someone said before Google gives a bit more chances to new sites comparing with the already established ones. The question is to maintain your position on the following weeks - this is the art of SEO

It's not really unusual considering the domain name is the search phrase, plus Google gives new sites/pages a initial boost.

The term "basic calculator" is 3.2 Million. I bought Establishes.org and got it to position #1 in a 5 days with 44.9 Million results beating Whitehouse.gov and Wikipedia.

Actually it's still page 1 months later with no work, keywords in the domain name helps alot.

But I do not think there is a competition on that term..
When you check the title, and the description combination of the all other sites on the first page, non of them target "Basic Calculator" (using the term ontheir title and description)
And 4 of them do not use that term either their titles or descriptions at all and ranked in top 10.
Do not get me wrong.. 1 week is nothing .. u did well on ur SEO work..you targeted something and achieved it, Now It is time to move to more competitive one to generate more traffic

Good ranking. It helps tremendously that your keyword phrase is identical to your domain. What kind of traffic is being number one sending you?

Oh and in my experience, keywords in your domain name are probably the MOST important thing google picks up on.

I'm not saying the only thing, but the MOST important for sure
