So has anyone here ever gotten banned from MSN?

I think I have gotten one of my sites banned, as I haven't seen it in the SERPs for a few months now. I'm not sure about the standards MSN are using to judge quality, though, as a large chunk of the competition are good deal more spammy than me. My site admittedly had a fair amount of spam (designed for volume) but the parts intended to rank were legitimate content.

No great loss -- the site was really an experiment in Search Engine fudgery. Still, I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with this? I'm surprised that it's happening with MSN of all places, which everyone keeps on saying is pretty spam-friendly.

 

Well i don't think i have never gotten baned from msn.

 

Thats strange man, I thought the word "over optimsiation" didn't exist in msn's dictionary.
I always see spammy sites doing great on msn.

 

I gotten baned and got myself unbaned I was baned due to many links to my site come from sites that linked to each other and linking to my site I removed a few links and was unbaned.

 

Netsearchresearch, how long did it take you to get unbanned? I have a few banned sites. The cause is probably the same as yours - interlinking. I removed the links 2 weeks ago but no sing of recovery yet.

 

too much interlinking is bad and will hurt you

what are the symptoms of getting banned from MSN ?

my 2 new sites are indexed in MSN ( they show in serps when i type siteurl.com ) , however arent showing AT ALL in the Msn serps for their keywords.

i have 500+ backlinks for this site and 3 other sites link to it in the same way ( they are all doing good in MSN serps ). These 3 sites are are linked together under the navigation menu , there is a link for each other site

So how can i know if im banned or not ?

 

I have one website ranking very well for a lot of webmaster realetd keywords! today I don't see it on #500 of SERPS for 1 keyword (even if I added more backlinks to it on friday , even if ... was #1 for months) .... But for the rest of keywords I am very ok! Also I am very i am still on #1-#10 on others datacenters, like msn.co.uk

 

I have lots of sites that are either banned or just not yet listed, it sucks, because unlike google there's no real way to check if your site is banned..

I think MSN bans sometimes though, but not like google of course

 

One of my sites has got banned for 1 months now. Nothing spammy.

I am thinking of creating a duplicate.
