I have decided to sell gamingtags.com if I can find an acceptable offer. The site is doing quite well but I would prefer to spend my time working on topics I find more interesting. I do like promoting and optimizing the site but writing content has become a real pain.

    Starting bid: $3,000
    Auction Ends: August 13, 2007 (9:00 MST)

    Url: GamingTags.com

    Stats: Jan 19th, 2007 - Present
    Pageviews: 917,923
    Visits: 321,391
    Absolute Unique Visitors: 250,723
    Search Engine Traffic: 273,336 (85%)

    Google:
    Visitors: 242,422
    Keywords: 34,447
Top Keyword Visitors: 9,514 (defence games)

I do very well in Google for a lot of gaming keywords. The site shows up everywhere for terms related to “tower defense”. This is a type of game that has become extremely popular over the last 2 years. Check out Google Trends data.

    Pagerank: 4
Yahoo Sitewide Backlinks: 2,952 (mostly deep links!)

    Content:
The site features a custom design using wordpress. There are quite a few SEO plugins and hand coded features.

    Articles: 148
    Comments: 498

    Earnings:
    $150/month
Adsense produces very low CPC on gaming terms. Some days I drive in 100 clicks for $5. I’ve considered other options for monetizing the site but nothing has been more appealing than Adsense so far.

    Alternative:
I will consider offers from gaming content developers willing to work on a revenue sharing basis. (if I don’t get an acceptable offer)

If the bidding goes over $4,000 I will toss in rpgod.com. The site is based on an MMORPG script (Dragon Knight) with around 30 hours of custom code/features I've personally added. I haven't started promoting this site as I figure it needs another 20+ hours of customization before it is ready to go.

If I don't get an offer this is the type of revenue sharing system I would like to go with.

    1) I supply a list of topics I think my viewers would find interesting.
    2) Writer chooses a topic, researches it and writes an article. There would be no SEO or optimization required. Simply email me the content when it is ready.
    3) I review the article to make sure it is unique and meets my quality standards. If it doesn't I would send it back to the writer for revisions.
    4) I then optimize, add images to the content and plug it into the blog.
    5) For every 100 words of accepted content the writer gets 1% of the advertising space on the site for 1 month. (adsense only)
    6) 80% max ad revenue cut per month.

Why is your traffic sloping down? How do you promote your site and do you spend money on advertising?

Traffic is starting to decline because I haven't written many articles in the past 3-4 months. I would estimate that around 80% of the content on the site was published before February. Based on how little I've added to the site during that span I would say the minor decline isn't bad at all. The site has a solid base of search engine traffic to build on.

I believe one reason the site hasn't declined very much is because of the high volume of comments from my readers. There are currently nearly 500 comments on the site.

I haven't spent a penny on PPC or any type of cheap traffic that would artificially inflate my numbers. I have purchased a few blog ads but not more than $200 worth over the past year. I believe I purchased the last ad in May or June.

If I go for the revenue sharing system could you set up an author profile page so I can drive a few links to my sites?

Sure, I will have to moderate what goes on the page though.
