Payments for September were approved yesterday... and thanks to the clicks paying less every day, I didn't even get close to the $100 minimum...

    This sucks

I'm over the $100 for the first time this month. When can I expect a cheque?

Fryman, you have to get out of the icon biz and into something more lucrative. I know you have the skills, so get on it.

Oh my. I have to follow that post?

Is the adsense amount when you log in a good estimate of what you will be paid at the end of the month, or does google take a huge bite out of that? I had assumed what it showed in the earnings column I would receive in a check (well most of it at least). No?

Lorien, if you click on the "Payment Status" link, it will show you how much you have earned in the current period. If it is above $100 for a calendar month, they will "approve" a payment some time (about the 5th or the 6th), then "calculate" the payment on or about the 20th (give or take 5 days). Then it shows up anywhere to a week to three weeks after that. So, you get paid about a month or so after the end of the month. Hope that is not too confusing of an explanation.

Nobody is going to let you get their site banned too, just give it a rest.

A dumb question: what does "return service requested" mean on the envelop of the check?

It means if the post office can't deliver it to the listed address for whatever reason, to please return it to them.

Yeah... It was fun, but you are right, I need to move on. One-cent clicks won't get me anywhere :)

Problem is... I have no idea on what to do. Sometimes I think of some free content site, or an information one, then I think about some e-commerce site... or an affiliate site... any ideas?

Im in ecommerce, I've recently started putting adsense ads on my site to supplement the site's income. I get low cost clicks though, less than 50 cents, but I don't really care about that..its just a supplement.

If I were going to start over again, I'd do a site similar to searchwarp.com where theyhave a bunch of articles, and I'd integrate the adwords better than they do. Since people will submit their own articles to get a link back ... you get free content (in essence), plus relevant pages for good adsense ads. Optimizing the pages right would make it a nice little mini info site that could rake in the bucks :)

Thanks for the idea, lorien1973. However, just thinking of starting to build a site, and waiting ages for Google to pick it up, for backlinks to start showing, for keywords to start ranking... I really don't want to go over all that again.

I guess I will just buy a nice established site and SEO the heck out of it to improve it.
