I am an indian citizen, and i want to buy a .us domain name. Am i allowed to do so ? Will i run into trouble if i do it ?
While buying godaddy asks me to "tick" the agreement where i state that i am a resident of us, or affiliated to the us"
yeah..especially if you use namecheap..you dont even have to tick mark anything..they already do it lol.. but i did read the .us Nexus tld requirements, you deffo need to be atleast somewhat related to US..to have a .us domain..the cud run spot checks...thats what i read ....
I asked a similar question on another forum and got a great answer. Here are Enoms TOS: I have found quite a few good .us names that have foreign registrant info. If it were me, and I lived outside the US, I wouldn't register any .us names. It is against the rules and you could have the name taken from you if anyone reports it or if they catch you. (Though I'm not sure how often that happens.)
