Negative Feedback [Seller Protection]

I'm sick of opening up site auctions and general site sales here and receiving bidders who win the auction or offer the right price and never reply back to your PM, or totally waste your time for a few days and then say that they're not interested.

An offer or bid should be a binding contract to the seller here.

I think sellers should be able to leave negative feedback for those bidders who don't pay, without being risked to receive negative feedback in retaliation.

A binding contract would be hard to enforce but certainly anyone who says they want to buy have made a deal and in the USA, atleast, that would be seen to be a "contract" and legally enforceable. The problem comes when you try to enforce it and look at the costs involved.

By all means leave a negative feedback and if they retaliate then report the post and let the mods take a look.

but the mods don't interfere with itrader problems.. so they won't revert your negative feedback...

On the otherhand, I'm pretty tired of winning auctions and having to wait several days for the seller to contact me. I once sponsored a WP theme and waited a nearly a fortnight before the seller PM'd me and said "BTW, you won back then."

It's just good manners to respond quickly whether you are buyer or seller.

I wish this will be enforced by mods (even if the forums hires more mods) to put the trading section in discipline

I think it will be. I've already put a negative iTrader with an explanation to this n00b today:
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/itrader.php?u=91105

Staff will be able to view the explanation for his negative feedback. Everyone else will just be able to see the comment I left along with the negative feedback.

Let this be a warning for all. :)

Bids are retractable. Every state has their laws and most will allow you to easily retract a bid.

Well sorry I don't know what you mean...no state law or law in general will protect someone from receiving a negative iTrader from DP.

So...if you win an auction, expect to pay.
    Done deal.

    Well said.

I know of atleast 1 person that were constant bidders and ended up winning the bids. And on top of that offered a low ball bid via PM that was less than the highest bid. He not only did this to me. But to several other members.

He is still active. With one blob and its not red or green. Just leaves a bad taste in the mouth. When I think of him.

I don't think you understood what Jerlene said, even if you win an auction you still have the right to retract your bid.

And it's fine that you say you don't care about the law in regards to iTrader, but at the same time you can't then use the law to say this is the 'right' thing to do.

On ebay there is an option to give your clarification in case you receive any negative feedback. So I guess on the DP this thing can also be introduced by some programing work, no need to hire more Moderators for that. People can see your clarification for that negative feedback & also you don't need to give them any clue every now & then.

So what ? He needs suggestions & we have given him. Time frame doesn't matter here. It is not a one time problem but a long run problem.
