Hey, yesterday i posted a message looking for a poker site i received an offer on a website which i really liked i thought it had alot of potential and jumped on the opptunity i sent the $300 to the guy so he would send the files and domain then i would send the rest of the payment. I was on msn too him he seemed to be pretty nice but after i sent payment he immediately signed off and i never heard from him again, im guessing he will get the money out of paypal ASAP so i cant recover it. Is there any way i can put a hold on the payment so he cannot do this? Should i contact paypal or just file a claim? Any other suggestions are muchly appreciated. Morgan
I have filed a claim but usually it takes 10 days too go through and only 5 for him too send payment to his bank account, hes username is LamountJ.
Check the dns records on the domain in his signature. It has the full details if you go to www.dnsstuff.com under 'domain info' Other than that it'll be a battle to get it back via PayPal.
It is amazing how low people will go. There is little honor left in the world. I hope you get your money back or the product.
Thanks i have just e-mailed paypal i will give them a call tomorrow if i dont here anything by then i want to put a hold on the payment so he cant send elsewhere.
Hey, yes i have caught up with you via messenger and discussing ways we can both track this guy and stop him, it isnt just about the name on my behalf but the reputation of your site at hand also.
Well I posted a notice at the top of the front page on the site. I hope this deters any more crap. I am really sorry this happened.
I believie that even if he withdraws money from PayPal, you can still recover it - they will simply make his balance negative. But I may be wrong on that. If you paid via credit cardm you always have the chargeback option left.
You shoould also notify Shawn of this thread...Although he isn't responsible for this kind of stuff, he may be able to provide the guys ip address to further help you in recovering the money.
Only 12 posts ? you should always check for reputation.... ON ather formus, clients etc. Ask for phone number, talk with the guy....
Heres an update, i e-mailed paypal with my problem like usual i receive a meesage obviously copy and pasted and has no relavance to the situation at all so im not sure whats happening with them. I pmed shawn to ask for the guys IP adress although he is not able to give me it for privacy reasons even though this guy is just stealing peoples money. So im at abit of a loss i cant really do anything too re coupe my money its kinda sad that this can happen and there is nothing you can do.
