I was reading the term of service of ypn
    what does this mean ?
Abuse of Services. You agree not to:

    12. display all or part of the Ad Unit to any user located outside the US;
does it mean I can show ads to people outside UNited states .
does it mean that I will be banned if somebody from outside the USA click on yahoo ads .
    Please make it clear?

I wrote a small ad rotator. It checks if the visitor is in the US, if so it displayes either adsense or YPN. If they are not in the US it displays adsense. Helps you make more since YPN only pays for US traffic anyway.

If there is some interest I can polish it up a little into a product.

Well he is right about what the TOS says. Then again the TOS also seems to say you can not have more the one ad unit on a page, but the FAQ says otherwise.

In any event you are better off not showing the ads to non US visitors.

    From the FAQ's

    # Can I place multiple ad units on a single web page?

You are allowed to display ads in multiple areas of your web page(s). In order to do so, paste the code multiple times as appropriate for your page. Keep in mind that the same set of ads may appear in each of the areas that you have chosen to display ads.

Exactly, as I said the FAQ and the TOS are not in sync. The TOS says you cant and the FAQ says you can.
Nor have I heard of them throwing people out for showing ads to non-US visitors, but the TOS says you can't.

Your site must be in English and target US users i.e. don't put it on a site that focuses on Doctor's who perform surgery in Italy.

You won't get banned if you follow the above.... and you won't get paid by Yahoo if a non-US user clicks your ad.

I find the following disclaimer works:

If you are outside of the United States please close your left eye when viewing my site. Thank you.

I have a friend in lebanon , I send to him about 10 links to other websites that it shows yahoo ads , and he told me that he can see the yahoo ads on all these sites.
so if a site shows yahoo ads and I have a website that it has uk traffic , and I send traffic to this site and all from uk , so ypn will terminate other other site account . really it doesn't make sense , I switch all my sites to google again till i found out a way to show my ads for us people only

I'm interested in doing the same. How do you check for a visitor's country/location with PHP?

The easiest way to do this is with phpadsnew geotargeting.

well right now I am using a keyed isam library on one site, and postgresql's ip data type on another site I set up for a friend. I am going to convert it to mysql and maybe sqlite, since for whatever reasons the first two are not common on most hosts.

I will include the data that I built myself from the allocations data.

Personally I tend to avoid GPLed software, and from the people I haved talked to that use phpadsnew I have heard it is overkill for simple ad rotating.

I cant agree more. which is why i posted this http://www.shoemoney.com/2005/09/12/code-to-rotate-easily-between-adsense-and-ypn/

a long time ago for rotating between yahoo and ypn.

Now for geotargeting..... thats hard to do in under 30 lines of code ;)
