Traffic: Traffic in the start came from a friend's site mostly, but now it's mostly from search engine and direct. Lots of forums and blogs link to it too.

Updating: You just have to download latest album from lots of places they are available. I download from one torrent tracker, Retag and upload. Takes 30 min or so per album. Usually 2-3 album per week come out.

Legal: I don't know about it, but there are plenty big sites that are running on bollywood mp3's for very long time.

You're downloading albums and reposting the songs on your site for download? You must have had trouble by now with the music companies?

In North America that site would have lasted a week before getting slapped with enormous lawsuits.

These are bollywood songs, there are loads of sites for these that have been runing for very long.

Like http://bollyfm.net/bollyfm/index.html , which is a pretty big site and have been for 2-3 years

 

My worry is not the lawsuits, but the adsense TOS that prohibits from running the ads on any site having illegal stuff. . .

I don't know, but http://bollyfm.net/ is running for 3 years with adsense and is very popular and has no problem and it's very big compared to mine

They have been running for such long because they are licensed to publish such Indian Music from IPRS. You have to pay a yearly price of around, I think $400 (maybe something different in rupees) and your site have to be submitted to be licensed. Take a look at smashits.com.

Well, other sites, like bollyfm.net, they probably do have a license. If they don't, I wouldnt doubt it, because the Indian government is quite slow sometimes anyways.

Bollyfm.net does'nt have a license, i know the guy personally.

But ur right, and there is a chance the site may be closed, but if you look around there are 100's of bigger bollywood mp3 site running without any problems.

so the uploading of songs have to be done via ftp or the script has upload feature

 

It's via ftp, but the script adds it self. Free updates for 3 months if i get a good price

how much do u pay for hosting and or a server per month?

 

hosting is 5$ per month, 1tb space, 1 tb bandwidth comes with package.

Mostly it's around 20 gb per day.

Hosting is paid for 6 more months, will give it with the site.
