Has anyone checked their stats and noticed any quality traffic from GOOGLE images? I have seen some serious uniques per day coming from there!
It depends on what you have on your site. Some pictures get alot of traffic. I have a few sites that get some good traffic on image search.
I used some images off other sites and seem to get a bit of traffic that is coming from these images. They are not linked in any way back to any sites and it has the Google images URL. I thought it might have being a spider but there was steady visits from two or three Google images for at least a week.
off course... Checked on a few sites and this definatly happening and i believe that it play a small factor in the algo but none the less a still a factor. thx malcolm
Is there anyway to find out the actual referer page when someone comes to your site through google images? I always get a referer that looks like this: images.google.com/imageres which goes to a blank page. I'd love to know which images google has indexed and I'm getting searches for.
that changes according to your web site. if you have a wallpaper site, it's normal you to expect traffic from google images but i can not say the same thinks for article sites
I receive about 250 visitors a day from Google Images on my Photography site...(The first one in my sig)
Hello My wife got 40K UV last month, just because of a Britney Spear picture on her blog Cheers ! Thibaut
wow..my friend did say he used to get lots from google image search, but it wasnt 40k uv..thats pretty darn good.
I used a frame buster script to force the visitors to see the page....it still converts low because all they want is the image
I get loads of traffic from google images. The visitors don´t usually stay on the site for very long though
I agree with Quail, image trafic is generally a poor traffic. They just want to get the image and leave. They even don't bother with the text or your ads. Cheers ! Thibaut
For an ad site, that must suck. For an images site, though, the traffic is pretty good, tends to stick around more than a lot of other sources. Which makes sense ... people are searching to find what they want, not to be persuaded. But if you put other images on your site, like the one that got a person to visit in the first place, you have a much better shot at holding on to some of the traffic. Example - people who find this on Google Images stick around and look at 7 other pages per visit, according to Analytics:
In the past, one of my sites did receive quite a bit of traffic from Google Images. What was weird is that the searches were most often for 'ourcompanyname logo'. For awhile, we were getting about 10 uniques a day because of this. Weird, huh? After awhile, it died off.
