Godaddy is so confusing. They changed the site again. 1. How do I transfer a name out of Godaddy? Login to account and then what tab? 2. Has anybody tried the The Domain Name Aftermarket to sell a domain name? Thanks, ivnj
Well, like any domain name registrar, you do not transfer out a domain name but rather you do a transfer in. Which means that what you need to do is to go to the registrar you want to transfer the domain name to and do a transfer. Enter the domain name and pay the additional year of registration and you are done there. Of course at GoDaddy, you need to ensure that the domain name is unlocked and if there is any whois privacy, it has to be turned off before you transfer. The next thing to do at GoDaddy is log in and click on the domain name you want to transfer and get them to email you the EPP Code. This is needed to confirm the transfer as you need to provide this at the new registrar. These steps applies to any registrar and not just GoDaddy. I did try the Aftermarket before but did not have much success, I guess because my domain name was not attractive enough.
