proxy should I?

I've set people with some good extens success with proxy i.e. around 10k unique daily. I was wondering how could proxy can be so successful? and how could one promote it?

should I consider getting one proxy as well? If yes, what are the factors that contribute to proxy success?

 

I will suggest you "Not Now". Summer is going on and "Targeted Audience" is at home. After that I will say you to start a network. Single proxy doesn't work.
How can you promote the proxy, that takes time. Add your sites to Proxy top Sites, also add to Proxy Directories, get back links, buying traffic might not be a good idea. Text links... Link exchange

Students will be your #1 traffic source. They use proxies to bypass school firewalls. School is not in session, therefor they do not need proxies. Proxies are very active outside of summer.

One proxy will work, but it will be tough to promote. When you have multiple proxies, you have a much better chance of getting traffic.

I recommend make a network of 3 proxies right now, and start promoting them. This way, you should be ready for when the school year starts.

 

LXscope answered the questions very precisely. Proxies are usually for School/university students, Employees where network blocks IPs to prevent the access to some sites.

Start promotion now and you will have a good network when schools start again.

yea I agree start building it now and you will see your returns during the school year near the end of august or so which isn't to far away!

 

I've been promoting mine with stumbleupon, directory stubmissions, and proxy topsites. Stumbleupon seemed to be the best. Its easy, all you do is go in the freebie section and get people to stumble your site, build your profile, and the traffic just pours in.

When you guys say to start a network of proxies, does this mean that the proxies link to one another or something, or do you just mean to have multiple proxies each standing on their own and unassociated with each other?

 

It should be linked, there is nothing negative about linking.

 

But wouldn't that mean that when someone sees your proxy and goes to block it, they will see those links and block all your other proxies as well while they are at it?

 

Yeh it's also right but mostly networks look to block the domain name or ip address.
