    i just used Yahoo again today. and i notice that when you type in your first 2 letter on their search bar, it will automatically give some suggested search/ keywords... is this new or what? what can you say about this new/old feature? :confused:

    You are maybe speaking about "suggestions" of keywords and keyphrases that you have already used to perform a search through Yahoo. But thats nothing that has to do with Yahoo search.

    Are you talking about the search bar in the Yahoo toolbar??? The google toolbar search bar also does the same thing.
    I believe you can turn off that feature.

    No You are not crazy!
    It is new for me as well. It is not from the search history
    They are calling it "search Suggestions" I don't have a yahoo toolbar installed so it must be yahoo or another toolbar?

    Here is an example of what pulled up when I typed in wess

    * smith and wesson
    * smith wesson
    * wessex water
    * dan wesson
    * marcus wesson

    Eventually those search fields are going to be reading our minds. Since they already track our navigation, searches, trends, bookmarks and emails. Whats next?

    yahoo had this feature a long time ago , what i can think of is 4/5 yrs ago. they just brought it back again. I think yahoo is pushing hard either on advertising or on targeted marketing. But hey i disabled it the very first moment:)

    maybe the technology back then bogged down the servers or something. they probably have a more streamlined way of doing it now, AJAX perhaps.
