Site appears de-indexed -- sort of.

I can't get my head around this, so I thought I'd ask if anyone else is seeing anything weird with the Google index (or rather more weird than usual).
I seem to have had one of my sites sort of de-indexed in Google - damned annoying as it seemed to be recovering nicely after Jagger.
I say sort of de-indexed, because there are pages indexed - just not current ones.
If I do a site: search is see the following:
cached pages that haven't existed for over a year,
    somepages from the gallery,
various pages without descriptions and not cached (just random crap).

The majority of the 14K pages in the site have just vanished - this happened today and seems to be the same across all DC's.
Very odd. Even the homepage has gone - and I mean gone, it's as if it's not even indexed.
If you just run a search for the domain name it comes back with a weird result (not there's no info) it comes back with domainname.org (which doesn't even exist).

WTF is G upto now ??

Anyone else seeing anything this weird.
Site is in my sig if anyone's interested.

Traffic on the site in question is minimal really (about 100 uniques per day) - mostly from direct type ins.
Rankings are gone - completely and utterly vanished. I don't mean dropped to 300 (ish) like during Jagger I mean completely gone. But then you'd expect that if there aren't pages cached.
I've never seen anything like this.
I've seen pages drop in and out of the index. But never 95% of a site - even the homepage has vanished.
Gbot is visiting the site like normal (running at an average of 350 pages per day).
It's as if the site has been banned - yet old pages remain, and none cached pages remain.

Firstly, I don't want a F'in site review - if I did I would have posted this here in the bloody first place. So kindly put the damn thread back where it belongs.

I want to know WTF G is upto now, and I'm not going to find that from within the site review forum.

I now know of a dozen people who had sites hammered by G over the period of the last 24 hours for no apparent reason. The sites weren't using BH techniques or anything like that. Some sites were in LV, some in COOP, some in neither. So no common thread there. About the only thing in common was that all the sites that I know of all had >10K pages in them.
But then I have sites with 10K+ pages using exactly the same techniques as the dropped on and they're not being touched.

Oh f it. What's the point in trying to discuss something strange that's happening in G in the f'in site review forum.
Time to open another bottle and get some chill pills - then I'll do the same as everyone else and go start another f'in thread.
