Has anyone tried this yet? Darren's got a post up on ProBlogger about it here It creates a nifty little expanding javascript window that appears when you hover over one of your Amazon affiliate links. I threw it up on a couple of posts on my "Good Stuff" blog. Figure since it doesn't take any screen real estate it probably won't hurt. I think it's pretty cool. I still don't imagine I'm going to be making a whole lot of money off of Amazon. BTW if you want to see the previews on your own site, you may have to clear your cookies, close your browser, refresh, and repeat several times. Someone decided they should do a real "scientific method" experiment, so half of your users will get a cookie which disables the feature. Cute. I also found I had to upgrade to Firefox 1.07. -Gary
I've got it up on a few pages that get alot of traffic.. It's pretty cool, but I'll have to wait and see if it actually generates any sales. For those of you who haven't seen it before, I've got it up on the following pages: http://www.celebrityseats.com/concerts/billy-joel-tickets.html http://www.celebrityseats.com/concerts/gwen-stefani-tickets.html http://www.celebrityseats.com/concerts/pearl-jam-tickets.html Scroll down to the Shipping and Availability section, and you'll see the small text link.. Hover your mouse over it, and the window will pop it. Pretty cool feature!
Actually I'm thinking about taking it down. I'm a little worried that people will click just because it's cool, but not really want to buy the thing at Amazon. Meanwhile they'be left my site and I lost potential AdSense/Chitika clickers. Maybe I'll leave it up a few more days and see if I actually get any sales.
I used it for a couple of weeks, but found that my clickthrough rates didn't improve, so I scrapped it.
plugged it in but amazon generally performed pretty bad. removed it and amazon altogether. ps. tried amazon for about 3 months gave them thousands of clicks a month. near nill sales..
I tried to come up with a good way how do use it. But in the end I removed it because I think that my Amazon affiliate page works better without it.
I thought I installed it, but it isn't popping up anything when I hover over a link on my own site. Any ideas what I might have done wrong?
Thank you for your tip. I usually don't promote Amazon, because everyone know it's address, and can buy later, when they no longer have my affiliate tracking / cookies on...
