Subdomain Question

    I tried creating a subdomain: forums.mysite.com and was told that due to the nature of their systems I wasn't going to be able to create it, so I have to stick with www.mydomain.com/forums which annoys me.
    Is there a way around that? I went to the root and couldn't access /htdocs
    Hopefully something can be done, I really don't want to switch my webhost.

    It was not a matter of how the system was set up, rather the way it was explained. instead of forwarding the subdomain as I was told, I just created one. That was it. ;)
