Onsite Advertiser

Today I logged into my adsense account and I've read about this good news.
I think Google is moving towards a closer relationship between publisher and advertiser. I think this is the road for them to replace all the in-house advertisement solutions...
what do you think?

Yeah, they been testing this for a little while. I actually saw a link on a huge website like that although I automatically assumed it was because they were premium. Excellent move by Google. They should of done this a while back.

Would be nice if they paid $100 if it resulted in a new advertiser signing up for AdWords (like they AdSense referral program).

This might be something in the works. Perhaps they are testing the sytem to see how it works and later they will start paying referral fees for it. Who knows?

i don't see the point to make other people subscribe to adsense.

i would preferrably let people advertise adwords instead!

Before you waste time trying to customize the page for a site, note that the same custimization applies to all sites for which you have addsense.
Quote:
Please note that at this time, we only offer the ability to customize one landing page for each account. Advertisers will access the same custom landing page from ad units on any of your sites.

How different will this be from already existent Site Targeting and CPM ads? Obviously, Google will end up getting new adwords sign-ups but what does this all mean for us, publishers?

Onsite Advertiser Sign-up

Is Onsite Advertiser Sign-up something new? Just notice it in my adsense account just now. It doesn't seems to have referral fees, so it's worth using it?

It is worth cause interested advertisers can signup with adwords and advertise on your website. This means more income for you. I also think that a potential advertiser is much more incentivated into advertising through adwords bcause of the well-estabilished and recognized brand.

Does anyone know if it is possible to create a custom link instead of having it under an ad block?

Is this the AdSense Program you're all referring to and if so does it not mean we'll have to change the code to every site hooked up to our AdSense account..?

Also... how many advertisers will be willing todo this..?
[Advertisers who sign up through this page will be guided to create an ad targeted specifically to your site, and only your site.]

------------------- [excerpted] -------------------
What is Onsite Advertiser Sign-up?
Onsite Advertiser Sign-up is an extension of Google site targeting that makes it easier for advertisers to bid on your site.

When you use Onsite Advertiser Sign-up, your ad units will display an 'Advertise on this site' link that takes advertisers to an informational landing page with details about your site and the Google AdWords advertising program. Advertisers who sign up through this page will be guided to create an ad targeted specifically to your site, and only your site. When more advertisers create and target ads to your site, you'll benefit from the competition as it drives your potential earnings up.

Sign Up for Adwords through Adsense ads

Okay those Google people are just getting lazyier and lazyier. In the next week people will be able to apply to advertise on your website by clicking a link on your Adsense adverts.

If it was not the bare faced cheek of introducing sitemaps (Which I actually like) now we are going to see some fun with competitors directly out pricing each other on adverts on each others sites. That what I think will happen anyhow.

So if you use Adsense, sign in and edit your sign up page. you can add your own image and change the sign up text. Quite a cool option really?

Yes, this is the AdSense program. You don't need to change any of the code on your websites, it's automatically added to the ads being displayed.

As for how many advertisers will be doing this, it's quite difficult to tell. If your site is of good quality, and has a solid following and is targeted to a topic, I think it is very likely that an advertiser might use it for your site.

Possible scenario:
A person that sells computers online does a search in Google for a specific review of a component. Your site comes out tops. He visits it, likes the site and wants to advertise. So he clicks the "Advertise on this site" link in your Google ads, and seeing that it's Google he is more likely to advertise and trust them with payment. He bids for placement on your site, and you might see increased revenue.

I think this program will only benefit niche sites or big portals.

It will definitely benefit niche sites. If you have very targeted traffic coming to your site, advertisers are far more likely to want to advetise there.
