I think my wife is starting to get the itch to have kids. She wants to start within the next few years. I'm not totally sold on the idea yet. At the same time, she admits she doesn't really have the desire to have kids now but thinks she will soon. I told her that if we feel the need to have a kid then we can but there's no sense in having kids just to have kids. Any advice? Or should I say, "Any advices?"
I have a son, and at times it is great but be warned it does take you social life away hardcore. Would I give it up though, not for the world having a child brings so much more to your life than you previously did not have. Would be nice to have my weekends back though, but then again being married they are somewhat gone anyways
That's just it, I really feel my life (in that respect) is complete w/ just my wife. I think some people have kids when their relationship w/ their spouse starts getting a little stale. That just seems wrong to me. Who knows...my dad didn't have me until he was 38...maybe by then I'll be ready.
Do any of your friends have kids? Take em for a weekend, and your wife will change her tune LOL. I used to date a girl who had 2 kids. For a while, kids are cool, but then...oh my..I dunno. I'd like to have kids, if at 4 years old, you could freeze dry them till they are 18, then kick em out.
There are lots of pluses to being older when having a child. When you're older financially you are usually more stable in most cases, already lived your wild side w/o having to regret anything, and many more. There are also some disadvantages in a way as some older parents are not as active in playing sports and such with their child, this of course though varies greatly on the parent. My dad was 37 when I was born, probally more just him but I didn't even realise what sports were until I was old enough to break out of the house a bit more and play on my own In the end I'm sure you'll make the best decision that not only works out best for both you and your wife, but also for the child as well. Our son was a 'mistake' to be honest, we didn't plan on it. If we were planning on it we probally would have waited a bit later in life as well.
I dont have a kid, but I love them. I go to a child asylum every weekend to spend some time with those poor kids. I feel happy to see how happy they feel when you play with them, and buy them chocolate lol Not true. Its depends upon you. for me its such a good feeling to have your child. it pours joy and happyness in your life. brings more responsibility and respect towards your family. I cant imagine a family without a kid.
Good points! My dad is now 67 and he can still outrun me (distance). He introduced me to sports very early. The funny thing is- My wife HATES KIDS! Obviously it's a different story when they're your own but I think it's pretty funny. She thinks they're "gross". Now that I could deal with!
You could tell your wife you're unable to have kids so you've decided to have a poll on DP and have the members chose who is going to impregnate her from dp. Then just show her pics of a bunch of people here. If that doesn't kill her biological clock then it should at least slow it to a crawl.
Rob, might try getting a dog. Sounds funny, but many people become very attached to pets and treat them like kids. We have three Chihuahuas. We have three kids and started very early. Some say *much* too early, but as I'm in my forties now, and my youngest son is a senior this year, we have some time to enjoy life. At my age now, I don't think I could go back to having little ones again. It was very taxing on me, though I love them all dearly. I think I would have been a much better father in my thirties, than in my late teens and early twenties.
Just show her pics of Nintendo and tell her that some kids can turn into such kind of ummm....errrr.....ahem..."MAN". She wont insist..
heh, she already treats our cat like a kid. They're really inseperable! I must have 100 pictures like these.
Rob have you ever thought about testing your home for carbon monoxide? I see all of these pics with you and your wife always sleeping.
"My name is Nintendo and I don't even want to think about it!" = 2 votes WOW looks like we have a Nintendo impersonator amongst us.... /looks around suspiciously......
I have a 2 year old son, a 5 year old daughter, and a 7 year old daughter, and i'm still a clueless fool.
I've heard people tell me they've regretted not having children, but never has anyone told me that they regret having them.
Include his cat in that list too. I think either everyone in the family is pillow tester or they are trying to set some sort of family record of sleeping. Rob are you capable of making posts while sleeping Ask my dad, lol
