milliondollarhomepage for PR?

    Does anyone know if the milliondollarhomepage pass PR? It is afterall a PR7 and if you even buy the minimum $100 worth of pixels than that is still a good price for a lifetime PR7 link (and potentially higher). Or something wrong here?

    Don't know, but consider this.

    Google's Matt Cutts had this to say in an interview with Aaron Wall

    apparently not, but i have some spare.

    Homepage PR5 link, directory listing PR4 with anchor text which WILL pass PR, and a link in my blog until it gets knocked off ..not bad for £10 for 10 years...

    Just view cache on the page.. and you can see that those pixel links don't even get crawled by the spider....

    Okay. Then forget about trying to decipher what Matt Cutts has to say and ask yourself this:

    How many pixels are on that page? How many links does that amount to? How much of that PR7 can each link get?

    The answer: (.85 * 7)/{number of outgoing links}

    Figure it out. You'd be further ahead getting a link from a PR1 or PR2 page.

    It's a cheap imitation of a con site...it's worthless IMO. Google will weed it out sooner or later (sooner I hope) then it'll really be worthless. :)

    Just look at how the links are created - it uses an image map. Image maps don't get crawled by spiders.

    The milliondollarhomepage drove a lot of traffic to those that got in early, and was at the time, a good investment. Now it is a novelty. The PR benefits will be negligable and buying in now is more like a donation.

    It doesnt pass PR but it sure does pass some nice traffic. I was bored and spent 15-20 mins a few days ago clicking on the idiots icons that bought the pixels and all of them had a real nice alexa rank. So I guess there are other people like me.

    Lol, those milliondollarhomepage links won't flow pagerank. Anytime G finds people selling links they'll not let the PR pass.

    You really should stop paying attention to that - Alexa rank is meaningless. They admit it themselves.

    Its not completely useless.

    From looking at the sites that are on the milliondollarhomepage and seeing their alexa rank you can definetly tell if (from being on the milliondollarhomepage) has increased their traffic. That is what I was pointing out that it will help increase their traffic (though not targeted, so useless) and not help their PR or rankings in SE anyway.

    not completely...but damn close, The only thing Alexa has going for it is the Way Back data and the tool that shows you how fast your site is compared to others...but as far as search results...it's worthless, it's nothing more than a copy of DMOZ with a hint of old trivia.
