New Unique Style Biding Directory Pre-Launch Special for DP Members Only - Bonus Link

I am pleased to announce the launch of my brand-new Bid for Position Directory TopUrlSearch.com

This Bid Directory is highly customized based on phpld bid v3.2 and offers a bit of a unique twist on what links display on the home page.

The home page lists 10 top categories and from within those categories feature links can be bid on. The top two bids from each category are listed on the home page. The directory also offers affordable regular listings in the sub-categories.

My idea is to give websites from assorted categories a chance to get home page exposure since most bid directories seem to have other bid directories and other directories only dominating the front page.

I have already begun aquiring text links and blog posts to promote this project and will be devoting a majority of the projects earnings right back into building links.

I will also be actively building links to the "Top 10" page so the over-all top biders can benefit from that.

3 Deep links are offered with every regular link and 5 Deep links with each featured submission.

The minimum featured bid is set at $3 and regular links are set at $2, this may change soon but I will give at least 24 hours notice.

The site will have no site-wide text links.

If anyone needs a sub-category added please submit your site anywhere then contact me via posting or PM and I will add it for you.

Bonus! For a limited time (probably till all categories have at least one or two featured link bids) I am offering each person that bids $10 or more a free featured link on one of my other paid directories or a regular link in one of my PR5 directories -Your Choice- (value $7.50-$10.00). To claim your free link just post your submission details in this thread and I will add it for you and send you a link to it.

Thanks and please don't add a live link to this thread because the bonus offer is valid only for DP members. If you find any bugs please report them to me via post or PM and I will get them fixed asap.

I just noticed it is per year. I understand the reason for that, but I think it is a really bad idea. Who's going to bid high knowing that all that investment goes away after a year?

Mmmm, I guess I will have to really think on that. I wonder if there is any middle ground between permanent and 1-year. The script does have a depreciation option but I don't know if that would be a good idea and it might be too dificult to explain to more casual biders.

The logic behind the two different types would be if they were permanent I would get higher bids but much fewer of them probably.

If they were yearly I would get lower bids but more of them?

I am just wondering, if they are permanent then it is just like selling x amount of permanent home page links and the biding would only really be for featured link position inside the directory. But I guess folks could be outbid either way...it is a bit of a dilemma

I don't really understand the need for featured listings, but I don't think you will get less submissions in any way if permanent. I think you will get more. Bidding directories are different than normal web directories in that people can pay you more than the standard amount. This is why the permanent element is important for them, IMO.

Looks nice and a nice idea. (BTW have you requested the remove of the http://www.osdesigner.net/ link?)

The problem i see is when home page bids get real high value, no new top bidders enter the game, on a year model the links normally are lower and probably more refresh and competition, don't you think?
On a short term permanent looks better, on a long term sustainable plan, year IMHO looks better.
