StumbleUpon is breaking the adsense TOS?

I started "stumble exchanging" like 2 weeks ago, and it actually got a decent spike of traffic one day...

Anyways, I just got an e-mail from google that one of my sites has been getting "invalid clicks or impressions"...

    Is it because of stumbleupon?

Trading stumbles is a bit unethical, I expect people with the attitude they they can cheat the system (stumbleupon) can also cheat the system of AdSense by invalid clicks. They might be trying to be nice by clicking your ads.

This is just a guess and is not meant to be offensive.

    Really?

I'm not sure what else it could be... I haven't clicked any of my ads... Do they get mad if I visit my own site too often? I'm still going upgrades, should I disable the ads until I'm done troubleshooting?

    Thanks for the reply...

i've had several 'big' stumbles with no problem.. I can think of nothing in the TOS that would indicate any problem with Stumbleupon (or Digg, etc)..

No offense taken, I understand where you're coming from... While I agree that the stumbleupon exchanges are probably abusing the system, adsense fraud would be out-right breaking the rules, and I'm definitely not willing to risk that...

Me? No, I just logged into my account... I was just worried about that warning e-mail... If it wasn't stumble that did it, I'm not sure what did... My account's only recieved 3 clicks, and 2 of them were from my adsense on DP, haha...

Adsense says you aren't allowed to artificially inflate traffic. Which technically is what you are doing by exchanging stumbles. Though how google would know this i dont know.

Now you really did say that you got an email from google, Google sends this email out only when they ban an account, how come you received an email and not banned. Secondly,2 out of 3 Clicks from DP is not that big a deal, if you are not banned and innocent , believe me you wont be banned for a single click "2-3" are just too low IMO. so dont worry.

I still can't believe it... 3 clicks, 2 from DP, and this?

The reason I thought it was because of StumbleUpon was the part about "auto-surf" sites...

The email from google doesn't always mean you're banned. There are warning ones too and you can read them on this forum if you search.

Trading clicks via stumbleupon has nothing to do with google in my opinion. You or someone has clicked on those links, the email you got is probably automated.

Beware. I got banned for 'invalid clicks' with no warning and no explanation. I emailed server logs to google and tried like hell to figure out where these clicks were from, or if I was 'click bombed' but never did figure it out. I went through the whole appeal process, and they just stopped responding to me. Anyway, google stole like $500 of my hard earned cash. Since losing adsense I have made basically no money with my site.

But I did get some of it back with an old credit card and my adwords account. :D Bastards!

Best way is to not show adsense ads to low quality traffic and stumbleupon traffic is worse than digg. ;)

am sure they have some solution of this, and 1 good one stumble can generate 100 and if someone like it gone and gone... though i usually use "thumb down" whenever a seeing proxy as well as unnecessary sites.
