Something wrong with Google & Iwebtool's Pagerank Prediction tools?

Hi, im fuser and i had a PR3 with 1000 irrelevant backlinks (or most of them)...I wanted to get PR5 on Google's next update so i started a link building campaign. When i got to 2500 backlinks, my predicted pagerank, according to Iwebtool, was 5 (83%)...that was great! Then, when i got 4000 backlinks, my predicted went to PR4 (78%). Believe it or not, i then got 8000 backlinks and my predicted was still PR4. After a few days, my predicted went to "cannot determine". Not only this, the next day, my backlinks count dropped to 2000 for this url. I checked the same address without the "www." and its still 8000...

Is this supposed to work like this? Some people told me not to guide myself with iwebtool but other webmasters do.

    What to you think?

    Thanks, fuser

PS: I have not posted the url as i dont want this post to be considered SPAM

Yeh, I have had the same thing.

But people always say never trust predicted pagerank sites anyway...

I have used iwebtool for last 3-4 updates on diffrent sites and I'd estimate about a 50-60% accuracy on their part. the other 40-50% means that they are off by at least 2-3PR points.

    Thanks, fuser

Quantity is not the same as quality in Googles eyes, always keep that in mind. ;)

    Thanks, fuser
