Hi Is there some RSS standard to browse through the next pages ? For example, this RSS feed displays only 20 items at a time, yet in my Google Reader, if you keep scrolling down, it'll keep listing indefinitely. How do they get the items after the 20th one ? Thanks
Hi Anjanesh. The actual Feedburner XML is 20 items. The only feasible explanation I can think of is that Google caches the feeds, thus enabling Google Reader to retrieve older entries.
When Google's spider crawls a site, it follows all links it could find on a page. If you have the feed lnked - it will be indexed and cached. Then it might be made available for the Google Reader. I'm just speculating here, but this scenario seems realistically inline with Google's approach.
Do you think they have a separate spider for RSS feeds alone and store these feeds elsewhere ? Maybe thats why they bought feedburner in the first place, getting most out of feed users.
