    Hi !
No google toolbar can't do that.
I try to explain, but english is not my birth langage.
many kind of way to fake a PR.
4 instance. if you see that googleboot request your site you say to "sorry this url wasn't used anymore (redirection) rigth know this site is on wikipedia.org".
Like this google give the PR of wikipedia of your site.
    ..
    ..
when it was a normal user you could show your 200$ linking directory with faked PR.
and when the user ask the PR at google, google say PR9 (the one of wikipedia).
    .
    .
and this faked PR have no value.

for instance take a faked URL : www.smilies-gifs.com

    with my tool : http://www.webmaster-rank.info/?fake_pr-www.smilies-gifs.com
    with livepr : http://livepr.raketforskning.com/?u=www.smilies-gifs.com
Mine see and say it was a faked PR
But livepr.raketforskning.com don't see that it was faked.

Here is the new version of cheating detector.

and adds : Http header + fake Http header + false TLD detector + 3 level of cheating & fake redirection detector.

It still was not translated french, but i will work to improve this tool and finish the translation last month.

    Very nice tool!

I posted about it on my new blog here: A Cool New PR Tool I Found

The French does get in the way a bit, but other than that I found it very easy to use. Are you going to keep a database of URLs that have fake PR?

Thank you usasportstraining. I wrote a long article but in french.
The main thing it to make believe Google false thuing, like a Url is not used to be a web site but a redirection of an other one ( good PR one, to display a high PR)

    ----
    Thx FastWeb, ;)
thhx to speak about this article in your blog ;)
I want yo work to finish to translate it. (but not sure i could find time in the next 3 weeks, i hope)
Yes, i'll keep the database of founded URL (don't know what to do with, maybe in archive or create a fourth indicator with)

    everybody can detect it.

    * use info:sitename.com results
    * use link:sitename.com results.

if both returns nothink, pr may be fake

    Thx, your right tonino :
this tool don't use only the result of the info: command
of course you could use the info command to check for fake PR

but..... this tool use 8 differents informations to check the validity of a website
    - fake URL redirection
    - http header value (no-cache, 404, 200, etc..)
    - The redirection number (300,301,302)
    - the stolen URL
    - the stolen PR
    - the fake PR
    - the fake URL
    - domain name

+ A list of fake site
+ the old values (cause these webmaster use to stop cheating for few day when people talk about theses site on forums)

to do a report this tool call 5 different URL (Google info + Google cache + Google PRa + Google PRb + site header) and check 17 different parameters

And the tool translate all theses information's in human language.
