Site Authentication: New Adsense feature

guys, just now when i logged in, i noticed a new option enabled in google adsense called "Site authentication".

This is basically for google ad bot not able to read site content for login only pages. Now you will be able to create a userid and password for google bot to login into those pages and read site content and deliver ads.

    Reps appreciated.

    https://www.google.com/adsense/list-auth

Does this also mean that all those PHPbb hacks and VB hacks for making googlebot look at forums as Guest user is no more required?

Thats a great addition...unfortunately it's not in my Adsense account yet, I suppose I must wait for it to roll-out to it. How disheartening, but I believe I will be able to make use of it.

This seems like it would allow for cloaking though...doesn't it? If instead of content a user is shown "Please Log In!"...but Googlebot sees content, couldn't that be manipulated to show keywords that are high paying, without having to display any actual content? Hopefully the ads sets would be different, and eBay ads would show, or something. Not totally sure if this made sense.

Sorry travis, did you mean people will cloak pages with high paying keywords. Well in that case, google algorithm will catch it, coz thats what its supposed to it.

People will give you reps when they appreciate or value your contribution, but asking for reps is a going a step too far, isn't it?

But people are desperate and nobody at DP gives two shits unless you speak out against the DP policies, or slap someone around a bit in a thread

    Whoring apparently is ok.....

godmode nothing against you as this is the first I have seen you post

I think the OP is referring to the verification of his Adsense account, so they can send him his PIN
