AWStats Shows 1363 page views, Google shows 195 ???

Why, when I check my stats does google always fall short of about 70% of my total page views? I have ads on every page but like today awstats shows 1363 page views so far today and when I check my google account for that domain it only is showing me 195 page impressions!

Yesterday on this domain awstats shows 1095 page views and yesterdays total at google is only 554 page views for 5 sites .

    Any Ideas?

AWStats is going to count all sorts of things that aren't going to deliver an ad to the end user (for example a bot spidering your site).

I've never really done statistic on mine awstats vs adsense impressions. But my best guesses are:

    #1
Some of your pages showed PSAs, which may not count as impression (?) but does count as page views in awstats

    #2
People are using adsense blocker, which means a lot of page views for you but no impressions since no ads appear

Shawn could be right too. Googlebot seems to be actively visiting websites every few days. That would count as page views too.

Would that be for Firefox users? It shows that 9% of users use firefox.

    Could be.

I use Firefox extensively nowadays, but when I use my IE, I realised that I have ad blocked on my IE instead, LOL.

200 page views from Googlebot, not bad! You're in for some exciting times in the search engine soon.

Also, sometimes people might cache the ads, not loading them again.

Remember, Google says in their help that their stats are not entirely accurate for page views; don't use them to track your views!

Google uses JS to activate ads and if JS is disabled in the browser, you get less page views reported by Google.

That could be a big reason why right there. I noticed in my awstats that it does have a section for reporting on how many visits have js on or off but it doesn't report. I checked the site for aws and read that some of the features require that you add code to your pages but couldn't find any code that would report back to my aws about the js on or off. Does anyone know? or is my aws broken?

Actually they include any type of requests as page views as i guess.....it happened with a stats wordpress plugin in ma mobile site.....google analytics showed 700 page views and statcounter showed somehting near/////same the case with adsense....but that plugin showed 2000+page views and 4000
    requests....

i guess analytics gives accurate figures compare to awstats.

but i use both. :D the thing is it gives me different results..

like for example in awstats i almost have 10,000 page views

but in analytics.. i only got 3,900 page views..
