Buyer Beware: www.electrical-deals.co.uk

I have been having a very frustrating and annoying experience with the philips refund store at www.electrical-deals.co.uk and just wanted to warn fellow rpointers.

I am purchasing a TV for £419.99 that would normally cost £600+ but the TV is refurbished/graded stock.

Firstly, on their website they say delivery is usually within 5 working days which I thought was great. But before they deliver something they send you a letter as a security procedure with a reference number on it. You then have to phone up and quote this.

Now it took 3 working days before i even received this letter!

Then when i phoned up they told me that they had to have someone at the delivery address for the entire day as they could not specify morning/afternoon delivery with the courier they use which is complete crap.

So this means that i can not get my TV until the 14th June as they will also not deliver to a neighbour (even though i have known them for 21 years and trust them fully).

When I was on the phone to them they did not seem in the slightest bit interested in helping me resolve the issue and were quite dismissive of my obvious complaints/frustrations.

What sort of company cares so little? I came close to cancelling my order with them but the price persuaded me not to.

When i suggested they change their courier to someone with whom you can stipulate morning/afternoon delivery they claimed they were using a "specialist courier" which is ludicrous because there are a million and one courier who would deliver a TV.

Sorry to ramble on but I feel the service I have received was the worst I have ever experienced and they are lucky to still have me as a customer. I will not however be buying from them again after this TV has arrived.

I recently bought a TV from electrical deals .co.uk when it arrived the stand was broken. This was replaced. The packaging it was sent in was battered and the box was open, so clearly the stand was broken in transit. This is a solid metal stand, so this would have taken some force to do.

After setting up the TV the screen flickered slightly, I initially put this down to the weather or a natural occurance. Over the course of the month this got worse.

I phoned them to ask for a refund and was told that as I had not contacted them within seven days I was only entitled to a repair. I have owned the TV less than two months and it is clearly faulty, but they will not replace it or give me a refund.

Beware this company their products are clearly faulty, their customer service is terrible and their terms and conditions make it extremely difficult to get a refund in a reasonable time.
