Hi, I have written a guide on how to increase backlinks (and have higher search engine rankings) and some tips on how to request them. Read it here: http://www.tw3o.com/2007/05/24/a-guide-to-getting-backlinks/ Please digg if you find it useful.
I was not aware of the directories with nofollow attribute but after i read this I now know a lot of things regarding backlinks... i also now know what sites are good in terms of buying links!!! im new to this business but hopefully i will be successful and gain money from internet funny too it says in the post do not be dumb haha of course
A little brief to call a guide, but concise and a good read for anyone starting out. Had to dig it for the use of Jack and Jill
Actually if you can include an email template for requesting for link exchange / listing in your post, i think it will be great. A good email is the KEY to getting listed / exchanged.
Nystul, I included a short example of a request e-mail. Thanks to everyone who liked the article, I appreciate it.
Content is nothing if your site is hidden. What's your content for if only you knows about your site? To get backlinks, you have to expose your site too.
True, but if you keep producing solid content eventually you'll be able to stop spending time seeking links. They'll come to you. People with weak content need to buy recip link programs and spend countless hours hoping someone will link to them. Initially everyone needs to get the ball rolling.
