Apprenticeship

Ugh, I really don't know where I should post this one.

Anyways, what do you thing of a classical apprenticeship model in current Web realities (I mean when mentor teaches the student, and student does some low-level, but most likely hard and/or tedious chores for the mentor)?

Something tells me that this would be a good model for SEO, Web design, Web development, affiliate marketing etc etc. Since no money is involved, it is essentially risk-free: any side can break off agreement at any time, and mutual benefits are quite big.

    What do you think?

Interesting idea. This would be a great deal for the apprentice especially.

For example, I would be glad to teach someone high-level SEO in exchange for low-level linkbuilding (directory submissions, social bookmarking etc).

And vice versa, I'd like to be taught Web design in exchange for me doing some tedious chores.

And I feel that a lot of people would benefit from such kind of relationships.

Idea 1: Write and build a social network around this idea. Could look up into it.

Idea 2: Promote apprenticeship on DigitalPoint. Seems to be exactly what it needs!

How do you plan to apply these two ideas? Good ideas though!
